Fort Ligonier comes to life with a weekend of reenactors, artillery firings, historical demonstrations, bagpipe music and more to commemorate the historic October 12, 1758, attack on Fort Ligonier.
Admission is FREE for youth ages 17 and under thanks to the generous sponsorship of Fort Ligonier Days, Inc.
HIGHLIGHTS
Historical Reenactments:
French and Indian War reenactors bring the historic October 12, 1758, attack on Fort Ligonier that changed world history and inspired the annual Fort Ligonier Days to life with colorful pageantry, crackling musketry and cannon fire! Visitors can choose to watch from either the British or French side!
Sutlers Row:
Stop by Sutlers Row, located on the front lawn of the museum, and purchase goods from 18th century-inspired artisans. Justin Cherry, Mount Vernon’s Baker in Residence, and his Half Crown Bakehouse will greet visitors on the museum’s front lawn this weekend with batches of multi-grain bread made with heirloom grains served warm with salt pork butter, inspired by 18th century soldiers’ rations.
Living History:
Visitors are encouraged to engage with reenactors and ask questions about clothing, living conditions, their military history and more.
Museum:
Discover the important archaeological finds and how they informed the reconstruction of the fort to within mere inches of where it originally stood and how throughout the decades of Fort Ligonier Days, the reenactment of the October 12, 1758, Battle of Fort Ligonier has remained a central event during the festivities.
Things to Know:
Visitor parking is NOT available at the Fort this weekend. Parking is available at designated festival lots with shuttle bus services provided.
