About our Guest Teacher
Luiz Henrique do Carmo is a distinguished forró teacher with a 10-year career, trained by the Pé Descalço Eldorado school. He currently serves as artistic director at the same school, contributing significantly to the development and promotion of forró.
His international career began with his participation in two editions of the "1st Forró Festival in Asia" in 2017 and 2018, held in Japan. During these tours, Luiz Henrique spent more than five months teaching classes and promoting the dance in major Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Hamamatsu and Nagoya.
In March 2019, Luiz Henrique began his first European tour, visiting Portugal, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Russia, and participating in renowned forró festivals and schools. In 2022, he returned to Europe on two occasions: the first to conduct workshops in Italy and England; and the second for a tour lasting almost three months, which included a new stop in Eastern European countries and a debut in Poland.
In early 2023, Luiz Henrique continued his international activities, teaching in Georgia, Finland and Hungary. In the second half of the same year, he visited Saint Petersburg in Russia and Sweden. In 2024, Luiz reached the milestone of 20 countries visited on his tour, including new stops in Egypt and Turkey.
Luiz Henrique is currently in Europe on his ninth tour, continuing to promote and teach forró around the world. His trajectory is marked by a deep commitment to dance and a mission to connect people through the art of forró. The phrase by Trio Dona Zefa, immortalized in the song "Vida Boa Danada", reflects the importance of forró in his life: "If it weren't for forró, what would become of me, my God."

About DJ Sampa
Sampa is a vinyl DJ and cultural producer who loves northern and north-eastern culture, especially forró pé de serra. He founded the project “Forró Vinyl” and co-founded the group “Forró Vem Vem”, both cultural projects that promote forró.
Sampa was born and raised in São Paulo and was influenced by popular music styles of the seventies and eighties. He began DJing Samba, Samba-Rock, Rap, Hip Hop and Funk-Soul in the nineties at parties. Sampa's first contact with Forró Pé De Serra was at the end of the 1990s in the first movements in the capital of São Paulo.
Since 2014, he has been researching the roots of Forró Pé de Serra, its genres and the aspects of north-eastern music. He has been a professional DJ since the 2000s and has performed at clubs and events in Europe, opening shows for singers and instrumentalists. Between 2007 and 2010 he DJed at Clube do Forró and Gafieira in Zurich and since 2014 he has been studying Forró Pé De Serra in its traditional context. Sampa has been performing at festivals and clubs all over Europe since 2015, and has participated in editions of Rootstock Brasil and Forró De Vitrola. He combines his experience as a professional DJ with his passion for Forró Pé De Serra and its aspects.

About forró
Forró music, which is original from the early twentieth century, is unique, joyful, engaging, always carrying a message in its melody, a poem in its verses or a simple lament in its protest.“You are entering a world of musical, visual, dance and fun-filled cultural landscape. This is the Forró Vinyl Project."
