Water is the most essential element for life on our planet.
This exhibit is an interplay between the work of sculptural jeweler, Claudia Gomez and fine art photographer, Jen MacIntyre, inspired by their shared interest in nature. Using their respective mediums, they reflect on the fascinating qualities of water through their creative processes. Water forms in light and metal considers our interconnection with this ordinary, yet profound, element.

Claudia Gómez is a Montreal-based designer born in Colombia. She began her studies in fashion design and then earned a bachelor's in economics. She has also explored the world of drawing with ink using principles of design. She is currently focusing on the intersection between sculpture and jewelry with solid bold pieces that stand alone as objects. Claudia incorporates movement and asymmetry into her work turning static sculptures into dynamic creations. Contrastingly, she is fascinated with the idea of symmetry in her more detailed designs; her objective is to investigate the relationship between kaleidoscopic movement and embellishment through the repetition of shapes.
Jen MacIntyre grew up in Northern Ontario, Canada, has lived in Upstate New York, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Vermont but has been calling Montreal, Quebec home since 2007. She holds a BFA in Art and Film History and is currently finishing her photography degree at Concordia University. She's the co-creator of the Mile-End’s Galerie Monastiraki, worked as the Visual Arts Curator for the Osheaga festival, and was a docent for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Her lens-based practice includes nature-based work, portraiture, and commercial commissions.
