Experience a captivating collection by talented artists Lony Maya Neubauer, Melissa Taylor, and Susan Lane. Dive into a world of Mid-Century vibes and Abstract creativity, featuring ceramic functional ware and sculptures, drawings evolving into paintings, and fiber art.
LONY MAYA NEUBAUER is one of 19 MIAS artists whose journey spans from the picturesque Island of Föhr in Germany to the sunny shores of California, now settled in Vallejo, just a stone's throw from San Francisco. Lony's passion for ceramics shines in her vibrant creations. As a studio ceramist, she crafts exclusive pieces that radiate the charm of mid-century modern and retro aesthetics with a hint of abstract designs, perfect for adorning homes and dining room tables.
MELISSA TAYLOR is the newest addition to MIAS and a proud Bay Area native with an innate talent for artistry! Since the tender age of 20, she's been letting her drawings take on a life of their own, infused with the vibrant energy of Kandinsky and the whimsy of Joan Miró. Her creations are more than just drawings—they're a celebration of creativity and self-expression!
SUSAN LANE is a guest artist whose passion for sewing bloomed from a young age, nurturing years of skillful handiwork. With fabrics, threads, and paper as her faithful companions, Susan weaves her artistic magic through both hand and machine stitching. Inspired by landscapes, faces, and the intricate beauty of architecture and geometric patterns, Susan's creativity knows no bounds.
Coming to the little gallery is the group exhibit CoalShed3, featuring photography by three Bay Area photographers Philip Krayna @dyslexsyk + Tim Passaro @residenttouristproductions + Desi Baytan @desibaytanphoto. Their images explore color and the unexpected in our urban environment.
Mare Island Art Studios offers stunning views of the Napa River and a dynamic art scene, constantly evolving inside and out. The studio hosts 19 artists, including ceramists, metalworkers, mosaic artists, painters, photographers, printmakers, sculptors, and woodworkers. It is also home to Obtainium Work's NeverWasHaul, a three-story steampunk Victorian house on wheels!
