Forging Bowie Knives with Mace Vitale, JS

Mace Vitale is a Journeyman Smith and award winning Bowie knife maker. In this two day class, Mace will take students through the construction of a guardless coffin handled Bowie knife. The class will cover forging, grinding, heat treating, polishing and sharpening the blade as well as constructing and shaping the handle.

You must be 18 years or older to attend this class.

Refund Policy: Students who withdraw from a class up to two weeks before the class are eligible for a full refund less any transaction fees.

Additional Information:

• The class breaks for an hour lunch. You are welcome to bring your lunch or plan to grab something at one of the many local lunch spots. The instructor will be able to assist. Also, plan to bring a water bottle - classes are physically demanding.
• Wear appropriate clothing, preferably cotton, and close toed leather shoes or boots.
• Safety glasses will be provided. Gloves are available but not recommended.
