Forest School for Grown Ups: Get to Know Native Trees
Ever wish you could tell an oak from a hickory without Googling it? Want to deepen your connection with the natural world while having an outdoor micro-adventure? Join EarthLab at Bryan Park for an interactive, hands-on exploration of the trees that make Central Virginia home! We'll focus on helping you get to know local trees better. From identifying different species to learning about their importance in our ecosystem, this hands-on experience will deepen your connection to the natural world.

- Native Tree ID 101 โ Learn the basics of identifying local trees by their leaves, bark, and other clues.
- Intro to Phenology โ Discover how trees change through the seasons and why it matters.
- Tree ID Scavenger Hunt โ Put your new skills to the test with a friendly, low-key challenge.
- Community & Connection โ Meet fellow nature enthusiasts and share your love for the outdoors.
Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned tree nerd, this event is designed to be engaging, educational, and fun. No textbooks, no testsโjust a chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of our local forests with expert guidance. Come for the trees, stay for the good company and fresh air!

๐น Who Should Come? Anyone curious about trees, nature, and connecting with the land. This one's for the grown-ups, but folks of any age accompanied by a parent/guardian are welcome.
๐น What to Bring? Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and a sense of wonder.
๐น How can I Sign Up for the Whole Series? This is the third in a series of four sessions. If you'd like to sign up for them all, choose the FULL SERIES ticket option at the price that feels right during checkout. You'll be on the list and get details for all four.
