Forest Rituals: an immersive theatrical experience

Four wounded strangers arrive at a remote retreat center harboring secrets and heartbreak. They are totally unprepared for the sheer wildness that confronts them. What are they looking for, exactly, and will they be able to find it? Will The Nest heal them, or break them? As their carefully constructed facades begin to crack under the forced intimacy of the retreat and pending environmental disaster, events begin to spiral out of control. Will everyone make it home alive?

Forest Rituals is a semi-finalist in the 2024 New City Theatre festival competition.

The play takes place at a dance studio much like Studio 12, at a retreat center much like Esalen. The performance includes dance in the style of Five Rhythms. The audience will surround the actors in an outer circle, as though they, too, are participating in the retreat.
