About this Event
Forest Restoration Workshop between Paulo’s Peak and Seaview
Come join us for a hands-on Forest Restoration Workshop at Mount Moses, Staten Island, NY, USA! Together, we'll learn about the importance of preserving our forests and work towards restoring the natural beauty of the area between Paulo’s Peak and Seaview. This in-person event is a great opportunity to connect with nature and make a positive impact on the environment. Don't miss out on this chance to give back to our planet!
We’ll meet in the Paulo’s Peak (formerly Moses Mountain) parking lot at the entrance to the Yellow Trail (or park on Meisner Road opposite the Bluebelt dam close to the intersection of Manor and Rockland). We will follow the Yellow Trail past Paulo’s Peak where we will take the unmarked turn-off to the left and follow the trail toward Seaview. There we will continue pulling Wisteria vines, lopping Oriental Bittersweet vines that smother trees along the trail, and cutting Japanese Angelica in places where it is dense below the trail.
Protectors will supply tools, gloves and refreshments. For more information call Don Recklies at (718) 768-9036 or Brian Smith at (917) 842-6585. (Service credit is available.)
