Forest Bathing Bike Ride

Schedule

Sun Jan 01 2023 at 11:30 am to 03:30 pm

Location

REI Co-op | Washington, DC

Get yourself refreshed, centered, ready to face the new year head on with a bike ride and forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku.
About this Event

Join us on a multimodal journey where your senses will be primed to observe, absorb, and reconnect with nature. Enjoy the therapeutic properties of absorbing and embracing the essence of the forest that has been proven by science internationally and by ancestors globally.

We'll start our bike ride outside the DC REI, where we'll take a slow pace (8-10 mph) to The Arboretum, where we'll perform our forest bathing. We'll ride back to our starting point as a group (6-8 miles round trip) and end with an optional hangout if you're still feeling social.

Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. Gloves, hats, gaiters, and scarves are all good choices. Hand and foot warmers are always useful! Additionally, bring a sit-pad, camp chair, light blanket, yoga mat, or something similar that's comfy to sit on. Snacks and water are highly encouraged.
