This is an opportunity to greet the day early with a leisurely walk and talk mixed in with Forest Bathing!

It doesn't get any better than this...connecting with others, with ourselves and with nature on a crisp Winter's morning....what a revitalizing way to start the weekend!

Experience the power of a Walk and Talk, where movement and discussion intertwine with community engagement. Then slow down to enjoy the gifts of nature that is offered in Forest Bathing!


WHAT HAPPENS DURING THIS OUTDOORS NATURE EVENT?

The event takes place outdoors in a Garden Woodlands space in South London ( the exact location to be advised to all who RSVP after RSVPs close the night before the event) where we will be walking, talking and joining in doing some Forest Bathing. We will be walking at a comfortable pace, with regular breaks, so this Walk and Talk event is suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness levels. Mixed in we will be slowing down regularly to practice Forest Bathing (see below" What is Forest Bathing? How do you do it and what are the benefits?")

The aim is simple: walk at a pace you can walk and talk and mix and mingle with the people in the group engaging in conversation of whatever is on your mind. All the while enjoying the benefits of soaking in the nature around us. Packed in one event are so many benefits to emotional, mental and physical health!


What is Forest Bathing? How do you do it and what are the benefits?

The idea originated in Japan in the 1980s 'Shinrin-yoku' means Forest Bathing. The Japanese practice of "Shinrin Yoku", or Forest Bathing, is good for both physical and mental wellbeing. Forest bathing is no more complicated than simply going for a wander in your local woods or park. The only difference is that rather than walking specifically for exercise, you take the time to really focus on the natural world around you, from the rays of sunlight catching the leaves to birdsong echoing from the canopy. This Japanese practice is a low-impact, effective way to lower stress and help your body and mind feel better. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness. Plus living in a city, it is good practice to be in nature often to inhale the Phytoncides that trees emit. Phytoncides are volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or “essential oils” given off by trees. These chemicals have natural antimicrobial and insecticidal qualities that protect the tree from germs and parasites. So, a tree emits these active substances to create a field of protection around itself against harmful bugs, bacteria, and disease. Phytoncides not only protect trees from attack, but they benefit forest visitors too.

My name is Lucia and it gives me great pleasure to offer events that connects people in meaningful and fun ways, while at the same time offering a more bespoke service that does not break the bank! I pride myself in making sure during my events that everyone feel welcome and included as I know how daunting it can be to meet new people!

All my in person events are listed without a specific meet up location(just a general area) and once someone RSVPs they will get a message from me, the organiser, with my contact number and exact meet up details after RSVPs close-in the evening after 9.30pm the day before the event. Please be aware of the following before RSVPing:

  • The listed fee per person to RSVP to this event is non-refundable. If for unforeseen reasons it is necessary to reschedule or cancel this event, a credit of fee paid will be used to attend the reschedule event or another event of the same ticketed value. No refunds/credits given for late arrivals, no shows, if you change your mind, if you can no longer attend, or claim not to have known the meet up point, or just don't like how or where the event was run etc.. If there is a concern that has not been listed on here, I will address it on a case by case basis. In these circumstances refunds might be granted minus Eventbrite fees.
  • As I list my events ahead of time, I usually check to see the weather forecast before listing events: however there are no guarantees that the weather will be dry and sunny. Nearer the time, if it is clear that the weather is going to be wet and untenable to be outdoors, I will have no choice but to reschedule the event. I do not issue refunds due to adverse weather conditions. Attendees have the option to either attend the event at the rescheduled date or attend any other of my listed events for the value of the price paid.
  • Food, drinks and any extras etc..will need to be paid for by each attendee individually, and directly to the venues, and is not include or redeemable against the fee to be paid to RSVP.
  • This event is not being offered as therapy/counselling and so does not constitute as a diagnosis or replacement for medical or psychological treatment. It is being run for self-help, motivation, information/educational purposes only. You will need to be able to assume responsibility for your own emotional wellbeing as it's not always possible to consider individual triggers in a group setting.
  • If you have any any personal requirements that you need to be considered to attend this event please contact me to discuss before you RSVP.
  • As the organiser, I will take all possible precautions to ensure that this event is run as safely as possible for all attendees. By signing up and attending any of my events , you agree that your safety and personal belongings are your own responsibility and I am not responsible or liable for either.
