About this Event

This field trip is for Heartland Charter School students and their families.

Hello cowboys and cowgirls! Giddy-up! Come join us on a tour of Ford Farms in Lindsay, Ca! Participants will be guided on an educational tour around the farm giving facts and information on all the animals followed by a tractor ride. After the tour, families will have free time to walk around and feed the animals with a feed basket each student will receive, have a pony ride, and mine for gems. Each student will have a gemstone guide available to them while they search for gems. Families will be able to add extra feed baskets, pony rides, etc. if they would like to purchase them on their own the day of the field trip at the site.
Ford Farms is located on the outskirts of Exeter in Lindsay, Ca 10 miles East of Tulare. The historic location was once a Frontier Land & in the 1950's the property was a movie prop set for Western Films. The location was built in the 30's for kids and adults to come and enjoy quality time together! During WWII the location was a landing site for aircraft's and had a communication tower that still stands on the south side of the property.

We encourage families to turn in a sample that is linked to the field trip that you attended during your next learning period. It helps to ensure that we can continue to provide these trips and their educational value.

Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please indicate this when you register your student and let the field trip host know once you complete your registration. Any student that is registered without a chaperone will have their reservation canceled unless the family reaches out to the field trip lead and lets them know which registered chaperone will be responsible for their student.

**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**
*Masks will be required for all indoor field trips per California state guidelines.

Refunds will not be given. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher that planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you. You may not send a different family in your place as we will not have a waiver for them.

Can I pay using my funds? Yes! You can pay for your student tickets with their planning amounts. You will need to choose the free Heartland Student ticket option. The actual ticket price will be manually debited from your student's planning amounts.

If the free Heartland Student ticket or Free Heartland Chaperone ticket is chosen and there are not sufficient funds to cover the cost of the ticket the order will be canceled and the tickets will be made available to other families. It is the responsibility of each family to know their current balance. This information is available in Procurify. (Take into account all pending orders. Please keep in mind that pending orders may cause your balance to change.) Please make sure that you have sufficient funds before purchasing tickets for field trips.

Whenever possible we will list the option of paying out of pocket for field trips by using a credit card through Eventbrite. Any additional adults and/or non-Heartland enrolled students will need to use this option when purchasing tickets. (Eventbrite charges a small fee in order to offer this service.)

Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome. Children ages 0-2 are free but need a ticket.

What are the check-in procedures? Meet by entrance to the farm at 9:45. I will be wearing a Heartland shirt, holding a clipboard and passing out tickets.

Is there on-site parking available? There is a parking lot in the front and it is free.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes, food and drink is allowed. There is a picnic area to eat.

Please do not bring food that contains peanuts to any Heartland event.
