Forbidden Planet - Film Screening

The Abbotsford Film Society presents Forbidden Planet by director Fred M. Wilcox.

MGM set a new standard for science fiction in 1956 by choosing to shoot Forbidden Planet in Eastmancolor and CinemaScope at a time when most science fiction was being shot in black and white and as cheaply as possible. The critical and financial success of the film proved the science fiction had a future as more than just B-movies for the drive-in crowd. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Film at 8 pm. Concession is available inside the venue. Tickets also available at the door.
