Lambada, known for its sensuality and dynamic energy, challenged societal norms when it emerged, earning its “forbidden” reputation. Over time, its influence gave rise to Brazilian Zouk, a dance that evolved from Lambada’s foundations and brought a new wave of fluidity, connection, and creativity to partner dancing. Together, Lambada and Zouk represent a lineage of passion, resistance, and artistic expression, which inspired the name Forbiddance Fest. 🌙✨
This festival is a tribute to these intertwined dance forms and the communities that continue to nurture them.
