Christian Elliott is a renowned concert organist, equally skilled in church and theatre music. He has had a distinguished career accompanying silent films at prestigious venues such as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Stanford Theatre, and UCLA.In his upcoming performance in San Luis Obispo, Elliott will provide live organ accompaniment to the 1920 silent film The Mark of Zorro. Featuring the majestic Forbes Pipe Organ, the screening features Douglas Fairbanks Sr. as Don Diego Vega—a seemingly idle nobleman in Spanish California who moonlights as Zorro, a bold vigilante fighting for justice. With thrilling sword fights, daring stunts, and clever disguises, Fairbanks’ dynamic performance helped define the action-hero genre. The film’s mix of humor, romance, and adventure cemented Zorro’s place as a legendary pop culture figure and inspired generations of masked heroes.
