About this Event

Learning to ID wild, edible, delicious mushrooms is easier than you think.
We'll pass around 8 life-size models so once you're in the field, you will be much more confident of success. Late summer and fall is the high season for foraging mushrooms in piedmont, NC, so you will be ready to bring home gourmet food.

You will also receive a handout of local foraging information, have time for Q&A, plus signed copies of the host's"How to Forage Mushrooms Without Dying: An Absolute Beginner's Guide" will be available for purchase for $15 cash or check. It has sold over 127,000 copies and no one has died yet! Top forager and author Sam Thayer says, "The book is excellent."

Your host, Frank Hyman, has been certified by Tradd Cotter to sell wild mushrooms in 3 states. He has foraged with professionals in 7 states and 6 countries. Frank has made as much as $200/hour selling wild mushrooms to chefs in downtown Durham, NC.
