Forage for Palestine - October - Friday 4th - Cavehill

Join me for this absolute beginners guide to starting your own wild food journey. If you have ever been curious about foraging or if you have a little knowledge of plants but didn't know what to do with them then come spend an hour or so with me learning about how to use the abundant and free ingredients that are all around us. This is a gentle 90 minute or so walk that will finish with some snacks inspired by the walk.

This is part of a series of walks that are raising funds for PCRF - the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund (www.pcrf.net) to support their current campaign in Palestine. You can make a donation for any amount but my suggested donation is £15 per ticket. All funds will go directly to this campaign.

"Our "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign aims to address urgent humanitarian needs and support long-term recovery efforts in Gaza. The funds raised will primarily focus on immediate relief, including providing essential medical supplies, food, medical treatment, clean water, and other necessities for families affected by the conflict. Additionally, our campaign will support rebuilding healthcare facilities and providing long-term support through impactful programs and projects to support the needs of children and the health sector in Gaza. It will also allocate resources towards trauma counseling, mental health support, and other initiatives for children affected by the conflict, aiming to foster healing and resilience within the community."

Important information

• The suggested donation is £15 per ticket but donate whatever you are able to give.
• These events are designed for an adult audience (14+) but very well supervised children are welcome - please let me know if they are coming. Buggies may not be suitable depending on the route we take. Please contact me if you need more information.
• Dogs are welcome but they must be on the lead. Please consider that these walks are slow and gentle and may not suit all dogs.
• Note that this is an educational walk and not a harvesting workshop. You may take a couple of samples of plants (with guidance) for your own reference.
• Snacks provided at the end of the walk will be suitable for vegans/vegetarians but I am afraid I cannot cater to other dietary requests.
• This walk sticks mostly to the path but we may go over grass and cover a couple of hills. If you have accessibility questions absolutely get in touch and I'd be happy to provide some more specific information on this.
• You are responsible for your own health and safety when walking around this site. Please come appropriately prepared with sturdy shoes, a rain coat and some drinking water.
