As summer draws to a close, join me at Hiller Park in Biloxi to celebrate the abundance of forageable plants on the Gulf Coast. We’ll learn identification techniques of Mississippi Coast plants and their traditional uses as food and medicine. Participating in a foraging class is the perfect way to build community by connecting with your neighbors—both human and otherwise. As we explore the diverse plants, and fungi of the Gulf Coast, you’ll not only learn valuable skills but also foster relationships with fellow foragers and the environment.
We will meet by the basketball courts. Late comers are welcome!
With over ten years of experience teaching foraging and ethnobotany to the community, I’ve had the honor of lecturing for organizations such as Gulf Island National Seashore and Crosby Arboretum. I hold a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology and have pursued graduate studies in the same field.
The suggested donation for the class is $20, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Cash is always welcome the day of the event or you can pre-pay or contribute to my vision of connecting people to nature via
Venmo: @myles-Ray-2 or
