For the Love of Phil - Ft. Matt Hartle & Friends

This show was previously scheduled as Marcus Rezak’s Shred is Dead. Due to a simple twist of fate, it has taken a turn which we are even more excited about. We’ve had several glorious moments honoring Phil since his passing, but it feels important to dedicate this entire night to him. One of our favorite GD specialists will be at the helm for the occasion.

The mayor of the Santa Cruz Dead scene, Matt Hartle is a guitar samurai who has blown away Crazy Horse audiences countless times with China Cats, Band Beyond Description and his own band. His intricate command of his instrument and seemingly effortless ability to manipulate energy is otherworldly. He is a visionary band leader who brings out the best in everyone around him.

His band will be the same trio of remarkable musicians who were slated to play with Shred is Dead. We’re talking about the top-hat-donning, minister of fun - Jordan Feinstein (Stu Allen & Mars Hotel) on funky, rambunctious keys, Anna Elva (China Dolls) on groove-centric, octopus drums and David Barsky (The Higgs) on freewheeling, boomerang bass. This Black Friday, post-Thanksgiving spectacular will leave our hearts overflowing and our limbs blissfully pulsating from extreme dance exertion.
