This artist is a multitalented musician with his mastery of language at the core of his performance . Using loop pedals & beatboxing his lyrically led performance comes to life before the audiences eyes as the journey through beats and language begins . Passionate about poetry and spoken word , a regular host of workshops throughout schools and communities ; Word Guerrilla brings his talent and message to our next ‘For the culture ‘ event . Delivering a dynamic audience engaging set predominately over hip hop beats , unavoidably entertaining and good vibe inducing we’re looking forward to hearing him out of the big system .
Principal
Principal by name principal by nature . A local legend blesses the system for the first time . One of Northampton’s heavily influential members of the underground music scene comes to show us how it’s done . An original member of ‘Sidewinder’ a label and record store that hosted events locally and nationwide ; this crew were influential in promoting and pushing UK garage and grime from the genres early inception. Principal is an acclaimed producer , with releases alongside UKG royalty and a wizard behind the decks across all genres . He joins us at ‘For the culture’ for a lesson in Drum & Bass and Jungle . An unrivalled weight of knowledge and experience makes this set due to be an education that all DJs , music heads , ravers and skankers alike will benefit from .

Another Northamptonshire legend who’s had a consistent history of pushing music locally comes to lay down his signature hip hop , funk and soulful flavours. From being a resident DJ at the late ‘Radlands skatepark ‘ in the 90’s , OP1 has always been an advocate at the forefront of local music and culture . A self confessed crate digging vinyl junkie ,a radio host , a competent producer of beats , masterfully skilful behind the decks be it analogue or digital , his repertoire and range know no bounds .
Expect some absolute classic beats alongside rare gems in an eclectic display of musical expertise traversing multiple genres . Head bopping ,foot stomping beats to get the room moving and grooving is a guaranteed outcome with this OG selector .
Whippz & Alja
Restoration’s resident multi genre mandem are back with a bag of vibes guaranteed to mash up the dance . Both of a generation whose musical influences sat in-between the analogue and digital era of underground music . These two selectors come to advocate the roots of the genres they play as well as push future sounds from fresh and current producers . Heavily influenced by garage , grime ; dubstep , jungle & D&B , expect a set that traverses these genres with passion and conviction . Taking the purist approach with strictly vinyl only selections , these two up and coming DJ’s are making their mark on the local scene by pushing the message of the underground music they know and love .
Natty Jam
One of Restoration’s resident reggae and dub selectors comes to showcase his love for the genre , sound system culture and the local scene . An advocate and participant of the local dub scene for over a decade it’s only right that Natty Jam is at the helm of the controls on a system he’s been an instrumental part of building and promoting . Staking his claim as one of Northamptons primary dub selectors , each set he plays is a true representation of past , present and future dub . A seamless flow around the decks and controls coupled with informed selections make this an education in Reggae and dub sure to be delivered with manners and respect.
