As most of you will know my Father in law got diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2020. He underwent intense chemotherapy and had a stem cell transplant. Si luckily got a 100% match for bone marrow donor which was through the Anthony Nolan register. If it wasn’t for the Anthony Nolan register, it may have been a different story. Si recovered following this and made an amazing recovery and even met his bone marrow donor, Andy in 2023!Unfortunately, November 2024, when Si went for his routine check up at Freeman hospital, he found out that he had relapsed and was diagnosed with AML for the second time. Si is currently undergoing treatment for it again but we all have 100% faith in him that he will beat it again!
Anthony Nolan is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and blood disorders, and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells. They save lives. Four lives a day, in fact.
Si and the family would like to raise money for Anthony Nolan.
Therefore I am organising a fundraiser day to raise as much money as possible and give Si something to aim towards and look forward to whilst he’s undergoing treatment.
Stockton Town football club
28th June 3pm kick off
Family and friends to be involved - it’s not a serious footy match, just a laugh and to get everyone involved and aim to raise as much money as possible.
After the footy match we will be going into the clubhouse to do raffles etc
If anyone has any ideas of how we can raise money and has any donations for a raffle please let me know. Open to ideas!
It’ll be a ticketed fundraiser (£5) however all of this money will be going to Anthony Nolan.
