Join staff at Fort Selden Historic Site in Radium Springs, New Mexico on Sat., April 18, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for a spring garden demonstration. As plant life begins its springtime resurgence, the time to prepare our gardens has finally come.Did you know that the mesquite bush here in the Mesilla Valley is a good indicator as to when to start planting? When the bush begins to produce new leaves and buds, it’s nature’s way of telling us that we’re more than likely past our last freeze and ok to start planting. Join us as we talk about how to create your own garden at home and then get your hands dirty in helping us plant various fruits and vegetables for our foodways garden.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 16 and younger.
