About this Event
NFU Scotland is holding this rally to highlight that #FoodNeedsAFarmerWhere: Outside the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood, EH99 1SPDate: Wednesday 2 November from 12 noon to 2pmAim: To call for agricultural production to be at the heart of Scotland’s new agricultural policy.
• NFUS is calling on MSPs to support Scottish food production. Agricultural
production must be at the heart of future agricultural policy.
• The Scottish Government’s consultation is underway and there has been no
clarity on how the powers created by the new Agriculture Bill will put food
production at the heart of delivering all the economic, social and environmental
benefits that active farms and crofts will be asked to deliver.
• Farmers and crofters are essential to the country producing high-quality, local,
sustainable and affordable food; providing and supporting thousands of jobs;
while also delivering on climate change and enhancing biodiversity. How To Take Part

It is essential that all attendees follow the Scottish Parliament’s rules set out below to
ensure the safety of those on site:
• The rally is only being held outside the Scottish Parliament building. We will not
attempt to enter the building, obstruct entrances or exits or interfere with
others using the area.
• We will not interfere or seek to disrupt the functioning of the parliament.
• Attendees must not climb on any part of the building, access areas where we
have no authorisation to be.
• No banners, posters or leaflets can be attached to any part of the parliament
land including building, railings and bollards.
• The rally ends at 2pm and everything brought by attendees will need to be
removed from the site after this time.
