Please join Growing Hope Cayuga for Food Systems Career Day on March 12, 2026 at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES in Auburn, New York. Registration is at 8:30am and begin promptly at 9am. This event is appropriate for youth grades 8 to 12, youth educators, industry leaders and community partners.
We listened to your feedback, and this year have incorporated interactive breakouts, more time for networking, and sessions for all learning levels! Speakers will highlight career pathways in agriculture, food production, sustainability, and related fields.
What to expect:
Keynote Speaker Owen Weikert, Director of Corporate Sustainability at Cayuga Milk Ingredients, will discuss how growth of the dairy industry is advancing human nutrition, sustainability and career opportunities.
Panelists will highlight apprenticeship opportunities and emerging technologies including use of Artificial Intelligence across the farm and food industry.
Interactive breakouts will provide hands-on experiences for youth to reinforce the vital connection between farming and food security.
Spotlight on Spruce Haven Farm’s biochar research project with Cornell PRO-DAIRY and Union Springs FFA to support Growing Hope Globally.
Discussion of funding for Cayuga County youth projects to address local hunger.
