Food Safety for Managers Certification Class and Exam

Safe Plates is a 12-hour Food Safety Certification Course developed by North Carolina State University Extension. It is paired with the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals test (NRFSP) test which is approved by ANSI (American National Standards Institution). This certification exam is accepted by your local Health Department.

If passing the exam, your certification will meet the FDA 2022 Food Code and the North Carolina Food Code, and it is valid throughout the United States for 5 years from the date of the exam. This certificate belongs to the person passing the exam and not the business.

Shorter class dates are convenient for your business. Here are the details:*

• CLASS: Mondays & Thursdays from 2:00-5:00 pm on September 30th, October 3rd, 7th and 10th (NOTE: attendance is needed for all days of class)

• EXAM DATE: Monday, October 14th, 2:00 - 5:00 pm
• REGISTRATION/PAYMENT DUE DATE: September 20th, 2023 - 5:00 pm
• LOCATION: NC Cooperative Extension - Orange County 1020 US-70 W. Suite 130, Hillsborough, NC 27278 (in front of the Hillsborough DMV)

NOTE: Although the class will be taught in English, the exam is available in English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese. When registering, please indicate your preferred language for the exam.

2. Exam only (for those not taking the class): $55 (Space for the exam-only option is limited)
