About this Event

Join us for our Home Food Preservation Class Series, perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike! Our series consists of four engaging workshops, each focusing on a different topic. Come for one class or attend all four—each session promises hands-on learning and loads of fun.

Led by experienced instructors, you'll learn essential home canning safety principles in a supportive environment. Engage in hands-on exploration in a fully-equipped kitchen to discover the ins and outs of preserving various foods.

No prior experience needed! During these classes, you'll have the chance to make and process tested recipes and take home at least one preserved item that you've made yourself.

Our series is beginner-friendly and offers a warm welcome to all. Come join us for an enjoyable experience where you'll learn the art of food preservation and take home some delicious treats!



Class Details

All classes will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

Saturday, March 16th - Freezing & Dehydrating

Want to learn a simple yet effective way to preserve your food? Come to this workshop and learn all about freezing and dehydrating food!

Thursday, June 6th - Quick Pickles (fermenting will not be covered)

Quick-process pickles are made by adding acid in the form of vinegar. We will not cover the ins and outs of in this class. We will have fun exploring different fruit/vegetable pickles and relishes.

Saturday, September 14: Tomatoes & Salsas

Tomatoes have the potential to be low-acid, meaning tomatoes and tomato products (like salsa) require proper acidifying for safe canning. Learn where to find tested recipes for canning and how to correctly process tomatoes and salsas.

Saturday, November 9th - Pressure Canning Meats & Soups

Low-acid foods require higher temperatures to ensure a safely canned product. This class will detail how to use a pressure canner that must be used to can meats, soups, chili beans, non-pickled vegetables, and other low-acid foods.
