Indiana faces an urgent crisis: nearly one million Hoosiers, including working families, struggle to put food on the table. Food, Insecure: A Documentary That Hits Home, a powerful new 30-minute film, will be screened on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 7:00 PM at KanKan Cinema and Restaurant in Indianapolis. As a follow-up to the Emmy-nominated The Working Hungry, which sparked over 65 community screenings and statewide conversations about food insecurity, Food, Insecure delves deeper into the root causes of hunger and highlights the real challenges and stories of Hoosier families. The new documentary pairs compelling personal stories with expert insights to inspire collective action for a more food-secure Indiana.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring leaders dedicated to addressing food insecurity in Indiana:

A History of Impact
The first film in this series, The Working Hungry, brought food insecurity to the forefront in Indiana, revealing the hidden struggles of working families. With over 65 community screenings and conversations across the state, it sparked awareness, policy discussions, and action toward systemic change. Food, Insecure builds on this momentum, providing new data, fresh stories, and a call to action to address the barriers that perpetuate hunger.
