Come experience our growing Interagency collaboration, as we continue our work since the turn of the century to expand the offerings at our proposed crown jewel, Negro Bar State Historic Park (1840-1875)
Together, we will showcase the transition from Mexican Rule to United States Rule, throughout the initial Gold Mining District of the California Gold Rush.
Today, Negro Hill and Negro Bar remain "second class citizens", a sub-unit notion of Lake Natoma Unit, Folsom Lake Recreational Area, managed by California State Parks for the US Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management.
When the 1848 Gold Mining towns of Negro Hill, Mormon Island and Negro Bar, California were established none of today's government agencies existed during the transition from Mexican Rule to US Statehood 1846-1850 and Armed Forces records not considered authentic by local authorities.
In the spirit of our "California Grown" global holiday, we showcase "First Fruits of the Harvest" and prepare for year-round agriculture and environmental services in context of past, present and future.
