About this Event

The City of Sacramento, Stockton, Negro Bar, Mormon Island, Negro Hill and many other early Gold Mining Towns were founded in 1849.

September 1854 survey maps of the townsite Negro Bar were utilized to entice NY global bond markets factors to survey, design and construct the first railroad in the West, our Sacramento Valley Railroad, Inc.

The 175th Anniversary Year of 1849 with permanent structures throughout the initial California Gold Mining District will forever be apart of the authentic California Working Landscape.

Negro Bar, Sacramento County will forever be an essential hub for our California Underground Railroad Network to Freedom on the way to our newest Federal Holiday.

Everyone is invited to join our short walking tour along the original streets of Historic Negro Bar, Sacramento County, reclaiming our "Golden Legacy" in the spirit of our unique California Journey from Slavery to Freedom.

Historian, Artist, Film Maker and Author Michael Harris will lead the hour long tour, wear comfortable shoe and bring a positive mental attidude to experience an amazing walk back in time.
