Join us for an exclusive tour of the Fields Point Wastewater Treatment Facility, Rhode Island’s largest clean water facility and the third oldest in the nation. Participants will “follow the flush” and witness firsthand how dirty water becomes clean through a combination of physics, biology, and chemistry—all working together to protect public health and the environment.
Tour Highlights:
● Experience the water treatment process that handles 50 million gallons of wastewater daily
● Learn how on-site wind turbines generate approximately 50% of the facility’s power
● Visit the data center where experts control the water treatment process in real-time
● Meet Jamie R. Samons, Public Affairs Manager, who will guide the tour and answer questions
Important Information:
● Maximum of 25 participants
● All attendees must sign a waiver on-site
● A valid ID is required for entry
● Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; no heels allowed
● The total walking distance will be approximately one mile
