Travel to three diverse parts of the world in one night and explore human rights! Join Folklorama and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights as they host a festive evening of cultural performances and storytelling in the Museum’s iconic building. Enjoy vibrant dance, flavours and music from Winnipeg’s Korean, Ukrainian and West African communities. Learn about human rights stories while browsing through a number of the Museum’s galleries. Featured food items from all three areas will be prepared by WOW! Catering and offered in concession/snack form; there will also be a cash bar. Attendees will be given three vouchers to use at each station.

Ukrainian: Loaded cheddar perogies with garlic sausage | Vegetarian option: Vegan sweet potato perogies with chili aioli
West African: African fried rice and chicken | Vegetarian option: Plantain and fried rice
Featured performers:
Drum Café
Led by Jay Stoller, Drum Café is a highly energetic African drum and dance group from Winnipeg. Drawing upon the music and dance traditions of West Africa, they have been entertaining audiences across the country since 2006.
Manitoba Korean Dance Group
A non‐profit organization, the Manitoba Korean Dance Group is run by volunteers committed to preserving Korean culture. The dancers include second generation Korean Canadians and multiethnic Canadians. The dance group performs at various events, such as the China Town Mid‐Autumn Festival, Korean Pavilion at Folklorama, ManyFest, Manitoba Korean Day Festival, school events and corporate functions.
Melos Folk Ensemble
Unique and refreshing, the Melos Folk Ensemble brings together some of Winnipeg’s finest dancers, musicians and singers. The group integrates the artistry of dance, music and song to performs a wide range of works, including traditional and contemporary Ukrainian and other folk music, as part of the Canadian multicultural experience. The ensemble feels truly humbled and blessed to have the privilege of promoting Ukrainian culture through creation, development and celebration.
