Regularly featured as a guest musician with orchestras including American Symphony Orchestra and American Ballet Theater, she enthralls audiences both nationally and internationally. Her 2017 tour with the NCPA Orchestra of China across the United States, alongside performances in China and collaborations with the Beijing Symphony, marked significant milestones in her international journey. An accomplished educator, Dr. Liu has guided students to successful admission to The Juilliard School Pre-college. Her handcrafted reeds have earned acclaim from both professional and aspiring bassoonists. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Manhattan School of Music, a master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and a doctoral degree from Stony Brook University.
Originally from Washington State, Denise Fillion is a pianist currently based in New York City.
