Folk Dance Workshop with Birgit Vallas
With the support of the Integration Foundation of Estonia, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EstWest, and in collaboration with Perth Latvian folk-dance group Pērkonītis, we have a wonderful opportunity to bring our Baltic communities together for an entire weekend of dancing, learning and connecting. A heartfelt thank you to the Perth Latvian Daugavas Vanagi organisation for supporting this event by generously providing the use of their clubrooms.
Join us on 24–25 October 2026 for a two-day intensive folk-dance workshop with Birgit Vallas, visiting us from Estonia.
Over the weekend, we’ll explore Estonian Tantsupidu (Dance Celebration) repertoire, strengthen fundamental folk dance steps and techniques, and have plenty of opportunities to learn, practise and receive guidance from an experienced instructor.

You don’t need to belong to a folk-dance group or have plans to join one. If you’re curious about Estonian folk dance, want to challenge yourself, learn something new or simply spend a weekend dancing with a great group of people, you are very welcome.
No previous Estonian folk-dance experience is required.
✨ Participation is completely free thanks to the generous support of the Integration Foundation of Estonia, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EstWest and Latvian community.
The workshop is co-hosted by EstWest folk dance group Pöörituli and Perth Latvian folk-dance group Pērkonītis, bringing our Baltic communities together through dance. 🇪🇪🤝🇱🇻
