Noemi Hernandez-Balcazar is an award-winning educator and the K-12 Arts Coordinator for Granite School District. With deep roots in Mexico's cultural traditions, she is a passionate advocate for making arts education accessible to all students and communities across Utah.
Take home your own decorated sugar skull! In this hands-on workshop, discover the rich symbolism of Día de los Muertos as Noemi guides you through the tradition of decorating calaveras de azúcar (sugar skulls). Learn the meaning behind the vibrant colors and designs as you use royal icing to create a personal piece of folk art that celebrates life and memory.
