Join Detroit Documenters for a community workshop designed to inform and empower Detroiters to access public records and better understand how local government works.

We’ll start with a brief overview of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and a panel discussion on how FOIA can be used as a tool for accountabiltiy and storytelling, followed by an opportunity to recieve one-on-one help drafting or strengthening your own FOIA request.

Whether you’re new to FOIA or ready to submit a request, this session offers practical guidance and supportive, hands-on assistance.
