About this Event

As a pianist and a devoted guardian of the spirit of György Cziffra, János Balázs has for years been a committed supporter of young talents and the emerging artists of the future. Within the framework of the Cziffra Festival—a festival he envisioned—attention is drawn each year to the most promising young artists through various awards and recognitions. In addition, those deemed worthy are regularly given concert opportunities to prove their excellence.

This time, two young artists take the stage. One is Ali Lugosi, recipient of the Cziffra Festival’s Creative Artist Award, and the other is Tivadar Varga, who also holds the same distinction. Ali Lugosi first gained recognition in the Virtuózok talent show and has since earned numerous professional accolades as a young clarinetist. Tivadar Varga studied under Kálmán Oláh, Attila László, and Mihály Borbély. He founded his own trio in 2018 and has been a member of the Budapest Ragtime Band since 2020.

Their program, composed of light and familiar melodies, evokes the approaching spring, while the blend of clarinet and jazz piano showcases the highest level of harmony in the fusion of musical genres.

This event is co-organized by the Cziffra Festival and the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center Brussels, with support from the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.
