I am running a medicine making course in January. Where you will learn basic herbal medicine skills. How to make a syrup, a decoction, a tincture, an infused oil and an ointment. We will study plants in depth and learn how to connect to a plants wisdom and listen to our bodies, while also studying the evidence base and traditional use of the medicinal properties of plants. The course is designed for you to go home knowing exactly what medicines to make, how you preserve them for different herbs you may need at home for your friends and family.
The focus group on Sunday is a FREE taster session. So you can come and get to know me, connect with the plants, and get a taster of what you will learn. It will also allow me to get to know you, and where you are on your plant journey so I can tailor the course to your needs. We will do a blind herb tea tasting, and have a general chit chat and question and answer session about what herbal medicine is and how you can integrate it into your daily lives. Its a beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon amongst the fallen leaves of Peasholm park.
I am a qualified medical herbalist and have been practicing herbal medicine in various community settings over the last 15 years. I took time out as I had a baby, and now I am ready to share my skills to the plant people of scarborough and build a community around plants and their offerings. Plants are amazing allies through the craziness of this world, and can be used simply and powerfully over and over again in our kitchens and I want to show you how to do this.
