Curious about fly fishing, but not sure where to begin? Join us for a hands-on Beginner Fly Casting Clinic led by experienced instructors from the Valley Forge Chapter of Trout Unlimited (VFTU)! This event will take place on Sunday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Valley Creek Park (361 N. Morehall Rd., Malvern, PA).
You’ll learn the essentials of fly casting, including:
▪️How to choose the right rod and line
▪️Proper casting motion and line control
▪️Practical techniques like roll casts, bow-and-arrow casts, and off-hand casting
This clinic is designed specifically for beginners— no prior experience needed! Small-group instruction will take place near the Valley Creek Park Pavilion (no wading or fishing required), with a focus on building your confidence step by step.
Whether you’re exploring a new hobby or looking to connect with a great outdoor community, this is the perfect way to get started!
Gear will be provided, or you can bring your own. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen and bug spray for a comfortable outdoor experience!
