About this Event

Join us at Fly & Field on Thursday, June 18th, for an evening presentation and Q&A with Jerry Freilich Ph.D. Snacks and libations provided by 10 Barrel and Fly & Field, all attendees entered into a raffle for a pair of wading boots from Korkers!

Whether you’re new to fishing or looking to further develop your riverine ecology knowledge, this is a great chance to learn from a formost expert in the field. This expert just happens to have focused his research on the stonefly, a bug that you undoubidly have driffted, swung and casted an imitation of!

Please bring your own chair, as we expect a packed house.

Dr. Jerry Freilich worked at the Academy of Natural Sciences beginning at age 11. He is an aquatic ecologist who spent 25 years working for the National Park Service in six parks nationwide. For 13 years he was Research Coordinator at Olympic National Park. Jerry’s PhD work was a study of salmonflies at Grand Teton National Park. The work required individually tagging 3,000 salmonfly nymphs with tiny numbered tags and following their movements about in the river. Although this gave him the microscopic-eye view of river ecology, he warns not to try this at home.
