Floyd Lavine is an “African Nomad” whose passion for electronic music is deeply rooted in his African heritage. His sound is centered on crafting grooves that embody the essence and spirit of the African soul.

“My mission and vision are to create a space of love, trust, humility, kindness, and connection. My sets take listeners on a journey into a world of sonic wonderland, filled with fun and love,” Floyd shares.

Floyd’s curated sets move fluidly between Afro, Techno, and Disco, allowing him to explore the vast beauty and diversity of electronic music. In recent years, he has traveled the world, captivating audiences at major festivals and renowned dancefloors.

With releases and remixes on iconic labels such as Innervisions and Ninja Tune, Floyd has expertly reimagined music by artists ranging from Kerri Chandler to Coldcut.

In 2021, Floyd launched his latest project, Afrikan Tales, a boutique label dedicated to showcasing bespoke music from the African continent and spotlighting artists around the world who draw inspiration from its rich culture.

“My vision for the label is to tell our own story, create our own narrative, and explore our own creativity without limitations,” Floyd explains, emphasizing Afrikan Tales’ commitment to artistic freedom and authentic expression.
