Join us for an evening of musical celebration with "Flowers for Mother," a concert presented by SNS Chorale and The Sunday Night Singers led by Artistic Director, Mike McCullough. This special tribute, thoughtfully scheduled around Mother's Day, pays homage to the timeless themes of maternal love, the nurturing embrace of Mother Nature, and the divine grace of the creator – both earthly and celestial.The 70-voice SNS Chorale, alongside the chamber choir The Sunday Night Singers, will showcase their versatility by presenting songs in various styles spanning centuries of music. Hosting one of the largest choirs in the Antelope Valley, the SNS Choirs is recognized as the premier choral organization in the Valley.
Highlighting the evening is the world premiere of a commissioned piece by Vic Hernandez. The repertoire includes a diverse selection of pieces, such as Wanting Memories by Ysaye Barnwell, Famine Song by VIDA arranged by Matthew Culloton, and Bogoroditse devo, raduysia by Sergey Khvoshchinsky.
This concert is an opportunity to appreciate the universal theme of motherhood through the lens of music. The evening promises to be a moving experience, resonating with the enduring love of mothers, whether they are here with us now, or watch us from above.
