Flower Press

January may not seem like the best time of year to be foraging for flowers, but look again. All seasons provide unique colours and interest; the harder you look, the more you will see! In this session we will explore this through the traditional art of flower pressing.

Winter flowers you ask? Not so many of those? Perhaps this is true, however winter flowers are often more vibrant and heavily scented as there are less pollinators around. These flowers work harder to be found so let’s see if we can find some!

This week we will be learning about the traditional art of flower pressing.

We will be collecting an array of leaves, stems, seed heads, old socks and anything else you want to press. In this workshop you will make a simple flower press to take home and start your city gardening flower collection.
