Join Master Florist Katherine Kear in this ever popular course and learn the art of flower arranging.You will be exploring the different aspects of flower arranging from floral design, materials needed and condition of flowers, history of floral design and what the difference is between flower arranging and floristry.
Each week, you will create beautiful arrangements which you can take home or gift to a loved one. This autumn, the course will cover a series of formal and informal designs using a selection of seasonal flowers, foliage, fruit and vegetables, as Harvest falls in the middle it would be a shame not to include it. A variety of containers will be used and one design will include plants and flowers. We will concentrate on a wide variety of garden flowers where possible as well as commercially grown ones. Some weeks it will be a single variety challenge.
This relaxed and enjoyable course is suitable for those individuals who have a passion for flowers and wish to acquire skills in arranging them creatively, maximising the potential of a limited selection, and discovering innovative ways to present floral arrangements. Participants will be guided in selecting and utilising their own materials, containers, foliage, and flowers, thereby encouraging personal expression and choice.
