At the center of a connected mind, body, and spirit lives a story. Our bodies serve as the pens to our paper lives. Our inner narratives dictate our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When we are spiritually grounded, we root in a story much greater than ourselves. This time of movement, breath, and writing is designed to build upon the flow state of yoga, into the healing flow state of creative expression.
This workshop’s purpose is to connect our physical yoga practice with writing, allowing for the connection of mat & paper to root a deeper connection of body & mind. We will first move through an asana practice with a focus on observing the language of our bodies, and how to hear the stories they may be telling us. With this mindful awareness, we will turn inward into a guided creative writing opportunity to tend to inner storyteller we all share.
No experience (or perceived talent!) in writing is necessary. This practice is an opportunity for writers or poets to enhance their creative process, but just as equally for those who are unfamiliar with writing to unlock a new hobby for mindful living.
** Paper and pens will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own favorite journal or writing modality.
