Florida’s Water Systems: Connecting Science, Communities, and Stewardship

Florida’s water resources are essential to the health of our communities, economy, and environment. These resources face growing challenges from population growth, new development, extreme weather, and changing environmental conditions. The presentation will explore how science, community action, and responsible stewardship can work together to protect Florida’s water future. The program will highlight the important role that individuals, businesses, and local governments play in caring for our water. You will learn how everyday choices about landscaping, irrigation, fertilizer use, land development, and water consumption can affect water quality, conservation, and the health of our natural ecosystems. By connecting science with practical, everyday actions, you will have a greater appreciation for Florida’s water resources and simple strategies to use to help protect future generations.
