About this Event

Manatee County Republican Liberty Caucus (MCRLC) invites you to participate in our 2nd Annual "Good, Bad, and the Ugly" panel. RSVP required. Ticket prices are minimal and defray our room rental and service charge to the American Legion venue. RLC members offered reduced ticket price. Others can save by reserving a table for six. Republican or non-partisan candidates for office can reserve a table to advertise, solicit donations or petition signatures for a nominal fee. You may dine by ordering off the menu at your expense if you choose 6-7pm. Panel begins promptly at 7pm. Our panelists pay only for their meal and beverages they choose.

It is a variation on the many legislative session reviews each legislator has already begun providing. Representatives Robinson and Gregory participated last August and the format was well received. This year we want to expand the panel to include all five state legislators that will have a Manatee County constituency if elected in 2022.

To accommodate the anticipated 75-100+ attendees we have reserved the main hall of American Legion Post 24 2000 75th Street Bradenton. Event is open to the public, but invites will first go out to RLC chapters in Manatee and surrounding counties to include Sarasota and Hillsborough (we have your districts covered!).

MCRLC is the fastest growing county chapter chartered by the largest state RLC in the nation. RLC-FL more than tripled in membership to over 800 in the past year and MCRLC more than tripled its membership since chartering one year ago. We are neither chartered nor affiliated with the Republican Party but we are the conscience of the GOP working with it to sustain and restore its constitutional roots. Most members are not just members of the party, among other civic groups, but activists. MCRLC membership includes two County Commissioners, a former city councilman and five candidates for school board and county commission in 2022.

"Good, Bad and the Ugly" panel (alternating order of presentation for each section and questions held until all 4 section comments are complete):

a. GOOD: What from your perspective were the best outcomes of the 2022 session? It can be about what you sponsored, co-sponsored or otherwise. If you want, you may include an outcome that is what you are most happy about either getting vetoed or never getting to the Governor's desk.

b. BAD: What from your perspective are those 2022 outcomes that you have mixed feelings about or felt involved some level of compromise which make you uncomfortable and you are glad the governor vetoed it or you wish he had?

c. UGLY: What from your perspective were those outcomes you are most displeased with and hope to see reversed or dealt with differently in the future despite the Governor's signature?

d. What are your hopes and personal aspirations for outcomes generally or specifically in the 2023 session?

e. Questions from the audience. We'll pick the folks. Members get first opportunity to question and then others.

The RLC has begun its process for considering candidate endorsements in statewide races and for recommending endorsements to the NRLC for federal elections. The recommendations of county chapters will carry a lot of weight when the RLC-FL board considers endorsements in your districts. This May 26th panel will serve as part of our vetting process ahead of our member's only endorsement convention in June. Whether we endorse in your race or not the RLC-FL will NOT even consider an endorsement unless a candidate has completed the RLC-FL candidate questionnaire and liberty compact found on line at rlcfl.org If you seek the coveted RLC endorsement, we encourage you to complete these on line forms at the earliest opportunity if you have not already.

Thank you in advance and we very much look forward to seeing you on June 23rd..
