Wild monkeys, manatee and alligators - Oh My! One of our most popular WILD trips for an adventure that does not feel like its in the USA!
Monkeys and perhaps manatees are just a few of the wild animals we may encounter on our annual Florida Paddle Trip. This year we will be camping on the shores of Fore Lake. Kayaking, outdoor cooking and evening campfires are just some the things you will experience during this trip.
Departing Columbus at 5:00am on Friday December 13th, we will travel down to Silver Springs - one of Florida’s most treasured landscapes since the 1870’s. As one of the largest artesian springs ever discovered, audiences have long been captured by the springs natural beauty and vibrant clarity. At the springs we will be paddling the 5 mile stretch of the Silver River where you will have a chance to see wild Rhesus monkeys, manatees, alligators and may species of wild birds and fish. After our paddle we will load up and head to set up our camp at Fore Lake, where we will enjoy and evening dinner and campfire.
On Saturday we will strap on our lifejackets again and head back down to the the springs and continue our journey down the Silver River for a 10 mile kayak on this quieter and less explored stretch of the river. After our day of paddling we will once again return back to our campsite for another relaxing evening.
Sunday morning we will pack up and head back to Columbus, stopping for lunch along the way.
Fully Guided Trip costs $435 per person and includes:
2 nights camping at Fore Lake
15 mile kayak Trip on the Silver River
Packed river lunch Friday, Dinner, Friday, all meals Saturday and breakfast Sunday. Basic camping equipment if needed
Pre-Trip meeting and trip packing list
Paddle rental is not included and will be invoiced separately. This allows you to customize your paddling preferences. SUP, Single or tandem kayak will be charged separately depending on your personal preference of paddle method. SUP (Friday’s preferred paddle) - $60
1 person kayak - $50
2 person kayak - $70

*** For our ladies that would like to bring their minor daughters ages 6-16: we are offering discounted pricing of $335 for your daughters. To register a minor at this price please email [email protected] ***
++++ IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN KAYAK AND SUP AND WANT TO USE IT: This can be accommodated for this trip. You would have to drive yourself and bring ALL your own equipment - including PFD (required). There is a $10 shuttle fee for Friday's paddle and a $20 shuttle fee for Saturday. Please email sanna@wildoutdoorlearning if you want to bring your own gear
Spots are limited and trip will run rain or shine. Ladies and girls only ages 6 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a female parent/guardian. No kayaking experience is necessary but you must be comfortable to be around water, and physically capable to canoe and kayak. Minors under the age of 12 must be in a tandem kayak.
REFUND POLICY: In the event you need to cancel your spot you can receive a 80% refund 31 days prior to the trip. If you cancel within 30 days of the trip you will not receive a refund, and your ticket can not be applied to a future trip.
