About this Event

Principles 5–9: Practices for a Sustainable Florida Yard

Florida‑Friendly Landscaping™ Part 2 builds on the foundation of Part 1 and dives into the final five principles that help create a landscape that is resilient, wildlife‑friendly, and environmentally sound. Participants will learn how to recycle yard waste, reduce stormwater runoff, protect the waterfront, attract wildlife, and reduce yard maintenance.

What Part 2 Covers

· Recycle Yard Waste — Turn leaves, clippings, and branches into valuable mulch and compost.

· Reduce Stormwater Runoff — Learn how to keep rainwater on your property and out of waterways.

· Protect the Waterfront — Essential guidance for anyone living near lakes, ponds, rivers, or coastal areas.

· Attract Wildlife — Support pollinators, birds, and beneficial species with thoughtful plant choices.

· Reduce Yard Maintenance — Design a landscape that looks great with less work.

Perfect For:

Anyone who wants to take their Florida‑Friendly Landscaping™ knowledge to the next level—especially those seeking long‑term sustainability, wildlife habitat creation, or waterfront stewardship.
