What is the Florida DragStrip Riot?
All pre-1979 interpretations of AMERICAN steel and/or fiberglass hot rods and/or drag cars, prewar imports raced from the 1940’s thru 1970’s.
We think 1979 is a pretty liberal number for Nostalgic drag race events nationwide.
This is not a Wednesday night Steak and Shake gathering. While I love to look at your new Corvettes, Challengers, SSR’s, Japanese imports and Mustangs this isn’t that kinda event. Newer model cars and Asian Imports any year aren’t invited to the Racecar/Showcar parking areas. This isn’t NSRA we’re your 1995 car is invited.
I hate to have to say this at the dawn of the announcement of the 2024 event. But someone always feels their 2019 Mustang or 1979 Mitsubishi Starion is Nostalgic. I owe these folks who built from scratch their Racecars/Showcars, or Restored a classic rusty relict to life and strive to keep the car culture hobby alive.
Guys please keep the purity of this event and police yourself’s, please don’t make this grumpy old guy decide!!
