Florida Arbor day is the 3rd Friday in January and was established to celebrate the importance of trees! This is the best time to plant a tree in Florida.
We have a whole line-up of activities for Florida Arbor Day, there's something for everyone!
Ongoing activities all day, starting at 9am:
- Free "Trees for Bees!" (*while supplies last, see species below)
- Hands-on Exploration Stations in the Education Center
- Tree Quest (an outdoor scavenger hunt to enhance your hike)

- 10am- Stories & Songs with the East Lake Library (registration required)
- 1pm- Nest Box Building Workshop (registration required)

*Free Trees for Bees are available only while supplies last. Funding for trees is graciously provided by the Florida Forest Service. We will have the following species: Red Maple, Marlberry, Red-tip Cocoplum, Fiddlewood, Firebush, Dahoon Holly, Sweetbay Magnolia, Teabush, and Simpson Stopper. These species all help provide resources for our native bee species--part of our ongoing commitment to ther conservation in our County through Bee City USA affiliation.
