Senior city staff along with engineering firms CPH and Halff will host a public forum to give updates and answer questions on the future of stormwater management in New Smyrna Beach at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the Brannon Center at 105 S. Riverside Dr.
Presentations will address the increased frequency and intensity of flooding events dating back to Hurricane Matthew in 2016; drainage improvements for North Atlantic Avenue, Corbin Park, and the Historic Westside; dredging projects in Turnbull Creek, Pine Island, Aqua Court, Geiger Cemetery Canal, Old Minorcan Pond, and Gabordy Canal; and a comprehensive update to the city’s Stormwater Master Plan that will drive long-term decision making on future flood mitigation and water quality improvement projects.
We can’t do it without your input! Help us build a more complete set of flooding data by sharing your experiences with us following the presentations.
